Finally: The third and final volume of The Nexus Trilogy is complete and now available on Amazon as paperback and Kindle versions. Yes, I self-published given how long it takes to find a new publisher and how many hoops a writer needs to jump through once you've found one. All things considered, I think The Next Dream reads well and provides a fitting finale to my original vision. And who knows, one day Sykes, my protagonist, will make it to the silver screen!

It's been a long while between posts and The Abraxas Stone is no longer available from JMS Books; however, having retained the print rights, I went ahead and self-published a trade paperback and it doesn't look bad at all. It's now available on Amazon. Continue reading...

higher cost. Meanwhile, there are other discounts at www.jms-books.com to celebrate the publisher’s anniversary, with the print version of The Nexus for only $.99!

Yesterday, I got a taste of the luck of the Irish because I had the good fortune of having my new novel, The Abraxas Stone, accepted for publication by JMS Books LLC. Below is a blurb for it:
The Abraxas Stone is the sequel to my paranormal thriller The Nexus, in which Sykes, its gay protagonist, discovered the origin of his extrasensory powers: a covert, prenatally conducted genetics experiment. Semi-conscious, Sykes finds himself in a familiar room and begins to recall the cross-country ro... Continue reading...

My
story depicts an air of expectancy off the coast of San Francisco
where a majority of the populace has been willed to witness an
extraordinary event. In its wake, society undergoes the biggest
paradigm shift in history
and
a door to the collective unconscious is
unlocked.
Back
in the late 1960s/early ’70s there was a cultural renaissance of a
sort, which expressed Gaia consciousness through various artistic
media, and perhaps with good reason; it was also around that period
that disr...

Life
has
changed for a San Francisco lab technician and his gay son when
aliens land on Earth,
inadvertently provide mankind with rare gifts, and
attempt to satisfy their own
curiosity
about the human race.
With
all the recent apocalyptic predictions, and justified concerns about
global warming and depletion of natural resources, I wanted to show
how an otherworldly event could have
a positive effect on a planetary scale. Though
I’ve written other alien visitation scenarios, I thought I’...

Inspired
by classic short stories like O. Henry’s “Gift of the Magi” and
Shirley Jackson’s “The Lottery,” I wanted to come up with my
own contemporary parable about love and sacrifice, one that would
resonate for LGBT readership. As a result, I wrote “Saving Face.” You can get it now from JMS Books website. The following paragraph is a brief description of this winter solstice story.
Jasper
and Owen have been partnered for seven years, with an unwavering
dedication to one anot...

As a guest panelist at this year's well-run Gaylaxicon, I appeared on three panels: Adult Fiction, Sexual Alternatives in Dark Fantasy (my own panel concept), and Ways to Improve your Writing. Not only was this convention informative, but it was also lots of fun. I can't say enough about how cordial everyone was and even made some new friends among the local attendees, many of whom were writers and artists. Continue reading...

Just received my quarterly royalty check and very psyched about some upcoming writing prospects and gigs. My publisher and some peers will help to promote The Nexus and Dreaming Sparta this season at various conventions around the country. I'm gearing up for this year's World Science Fiction Convention in Reno which looks exciting; I plan to do a private reading and lots of networking. Meanwhile, have had the opportunity to interview a local, award-winning writer; it will appear in print so... Continue reading...
